NHEV’s Early Safety and Traceability Ideation become MoRTH’s Draft Battery Pack Aadhaar Guidelines
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has released draft guidelines for implementing a Battery Pack Aadhaar System, marking a major step towards improving safety, traceability and lifecycle accountability of electric vehicle (EV) batteries in India. The proposed framework covers EV batteries used in L, M and N category vehicles, as well as industrial batteries above 2 kWh, and introduces a unique 21-character Battery Pack Aadhaar Number (BPAN) to enable structured identification and monitoring across the battery lifecycle.

देश में बढ़ते सड़क हादसों और लगातार हो रही मौतों को लेकर केंद्र सरकार गंभीर हो गई है. इसी कड़ी में 23 दिसंबर को सड़क सुरक्षा पर एक अहम हाई-लेवल बैठक बुलाई गई है. इस बैठक में अलग-अलग मंत्रालयों के अधिकारी, सड़क सुरक्षा विशेषज्ञ और तकनीकी संस्थानों के प्रतिनिधि शामिल होंगे. बैठक में खराब सड़कें, अधूरे इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर प्रोजेक्ट, ट्रैफिक नियमों की अनदेखी, ओवरस्पीडिंग और हादसे के बाद इलाज में देरी जैसे अहम मुद्दों पर विस्तार से चर्चा की जाएगी.
