Dr B. K. Panigrahi is a senior academic and researcher in the field of electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, and energy systems. He is currently a Professor (HAG) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and serves as the Indu Shrivastava & Serla Singh Chair Professor in Artificial Intelligence.
He is also the Founder Head of the Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) at IIT Delhi, where he has contributed significantly to research in electric mobility, automotive systems, and advanced energy technologies.
Dr. Panigrahi’s research focuses on artificial intelligence applications in power systems, smart grid operations, electric vehicle technologies, battery management systems, and energy optimization. His work also includes fault diagnostics, power quality analysis, and control systems for electrical machines and renewable energy integration.
He has extensive academic and research experience, having previously served at the University College of Engineering, Burla, before joining IIT Delhi. Over the years, he has published extensively in international journals and conferences and is actively involved in mentoring research scholars and technology startups in the EV and clean energy domain.
