Shri. George Kuruvilla is an accomplished technology and infrastructure leader with extensive experience in broadcasting, digital communications, project management, and public sector transformation. An officer of the Indian Broadcasting Engineering Service (1987 Batch), he has dedicated his career to strengthening India’s broadcasting and technology infrastructure through leadership roles across All India Radio, Doordarshan, Prasar Bharati, and Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL).
He holds an M.Tech in Digital Communication Systems from the IIT – Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and has completed advanced management education in Corporate Finance from the Indian IIM – Indian Institute of Management Kolkata. Over the course of his career, he has led and overseen the execution of several large-scale, nationally significant projects in broadcasting, telecommunications, and communications infrastructure, contributing to the development and modernisation of critical public sector technology systems in India.
After serving in senior positions within All India Radio, Doordarshan, and Prasar Bharati for over two decades, Shri. Kuruvilla joined BECIL as General Manager and later served as Director (Operations & Maintenance) before assuming the role of Chairman & Managing Director. Widely recognised for his strategic vision and institution-building capabilities, Shri. Kuruvilla has played an important role in delivering technology-enabled solutions for government agencies, public institutions, and national development programmes. His work continues to contribute to India’s digital transformation agenda and the advancement of technology-driven infrastructure ecosystems.
